Somebody stop me
I have taken a few weeks off sending out resumes to just work at the bakery, let my brain uncoil, and relax. I get a little money from the bakery job, so it takes the immediate pressure of needing more money away, but the long term problems are still there. A few great job opportunities have slid through my mailbox this week, though, so I have started thinking about it and putting a plan together.
A friend helped me revise my resume, and I applied for a few state and federal jobs. I’m also starting to make some local political connections and might have the opportunity to pick up some kind of work in the Democratic Party somewhere. Any of these would be a good way for me to exercise my higher brain functions, which have been atrophying for months now.
Regardless of whether I get one of those jobs, I have to start studying for the bar exam again. I was aiming for last week, but too many things have been going on for me and Carly this month. I have the goal of cleaning up my office before I start studying, as I need a decent work environment to study in. Since I don’t have a study partner, and I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on coffee this time around, I’ve got to do it at home and I have to focus. Cleaning up my office will give me the feng shui necessary to achieve that focus.
My next idea is to create a grain co-op for Mount Vernon. I’ve been watching the prices of wheat rise over the last few months, and I want to see if there’s a way to keep the cost down by doing everything locally. It’s a kernel of an idea at this point, and I have to learn a whole new science to make it work, but I think it’s worth pursuing.
Wish me luck.

You can clean this weekend. I’ll help provide support, since I know that you don’t like it when I move your shit around.
